Observers note that John’s “farmhand” duties have hardly abated since handing the reigns to Mark.  John is still very much involved in the day-to-day operation of the farm, and he wouldn’t have it any other way.  His most important role is as “Grandpa John” to eleven fantastic kids between the ages of 2 and 20.
